ATK-PSI built our first
Propellant Management Device (PMD) tank in 1973.
Over the last 30 years PSI has become the recognized leader in
the design and manufacture of PMD satellite propellant tanks.
The first PMDs that
ATK-PSI incorporated in tanks were designed by our customers such as
Lockheed, Martin Marietta, General Electric, and Space Systems/Loral.
In 1987 PSI signed an exclusive arrangement with PMD Technology (PMDT)
for the design of PMDs. Since
then most of the PMDs that we build are designed by Don. Jaekle,
the founder of PMDT. Over
the last decade, the team of PSI and PMDT have designed and qualified
more PMD propellant tanks than any other company.
To
date ATK-PSI has fabricated over 900 PMD tanks for hundreds of satellites of
over 35 different designs. The table below is a comprehensive list of
the PMD tanks manufactured by ATK-PSI with those PMDs entirely designed
by
Don
